Essay Contest
2023-2024
Topic: “Optimism: How It Connects Us”
The contest is open to contestants under the age of 19 as of October 1st of the current Optimist International contest year (October 1 – September 30) and who have not yet completed secondary school or its equivalent, including CEGEP students in Québec, Canada. There is no minimum age. Students must enter in the District in which they reside. U.S. students attending school on military installations outside the U.S. are eligible to enter their last home of record.
Interested students must contact their local Optimist Club. They need to submit an essay on the pre-assigned topic. They need to complete the application and read the rules on the application. The application and rules can be found at this link.
The Northern Wake Optimist will sponsor each student that applies and submits an essay.
All applications and typed essays need to be completed and submitted no later than February 10th, 2024 to Northern Wake Optimist Club, P O Box 394, Rolesville, NC or emailed to northernwakeoptimistclub@gmail.com.
This winning essay will be forwarded to the District #43 and to qualify for a $1500.00 Scholarship.

Interested students submit a speech on the pre-assigned topic to the Northern Wake Optimist Club. They need to submit their typed on the pre-assigned topic. They need to complete the application and read the rules on the application. The application and rules can be found at this link.
The Northern Wake Optimist will sponsor each student that applies and submits a typed speech and completed application.
All applications and typed speeches need to be completed and submitted no later than March 30, 2024 to Northern Wake Optimist Club, P O Box 394, Rolesville, NC or emailed to northernwakeoptimistclub@gmail.com.
